Paralegal Legal Support Technician

Course Description

Associate of Applied Science Paralegal/ Legal Support Technician AAS Degree provides the student the courses necessary to work as support personnel in a legal office environment. This program will teach the student to apply knowledge of the law and of legal procedures in rendering direct assistance to a lawyer in the form of legal research; preparation and interpretation of legal documents; assistance in the courtroom or at trial; client interviewing and investigation; and document organization and calendaring. Upon completion students will receive an Associate of Applied Science Paralegal/ Legal Support Technician degree.

Upon successful graduation from this program, graduates should be able to;

  • Work in legal offices, federal, state, and local government offices, and any other law offices;
  • Utilize project management skills;
  • Demonstrate an understanding of employment relationships;
  • Understand good customer service skills;
  • Demonstrate practical proficiency in the basic application of current office software including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation development;
  • Utilize basic PC knowledge.
