Computer and Information Systems Security Management

Course Description

Students completing the Computer and Information Systems/Security Management Program will have the skills and abilities to diagnose, repair, troubleshoot, secure and protect business and personal computer networks, peripherals, and related devices. Students are instructed in the skills required to setup and manage networks including troubleshooting and repair of network and non-networked computers. Additionally, graduates will be prepared to pursue CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security Plus and Cisco certifications. Students completing the Computer and Information Systems/Security Management Program will be eligible to enroll in the Associate of Applied Science Information Technology Manager Program.

Upon successful completion, graduates of the Computer and Information Systems/Security Management Program will be able to;

  • Become network administrator/computer repair specialists with large or small businesses;
  • Work in manufacturing industries, local and federal government agencies, computer consulting firms, or education centers;
  • Utilize project management skills;
  • Demonstrate an understanding of employment relationships;
  • Understand good customer service skills;
  • Demonstrate practical proficiency in the basic application of current office software including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation development;
  • Utilize basic PC knowledge.
